Definitely, Maybe movie review by star757

Definitely, Maybe Movie Review by star757

Buy the Movie Poster for Definitely, Maybe

I had wanted to see this movie when it first came out and I just found it on TV today. It stars Ryan Reynolds as William and Abigail Breslin as his daughter Maya. William is just divorced and his daughter wants to know about how he met her mother and his other past loves. This is the whole movie, him telling this story to his daughter. It follows his relationships with three women...Emily, his college sweetheart, Summer, a writer in New York, and April, a free spirit who he first meets while working for the Bill Clinton campaign in NYC. All the while you don't know which one is really his daughter's mother. I really enjoyed this movie. It's a mystery to solve and also to figure out who he really loves, and if he'll even end up with any of them. Most of the movie follows William and his relationships, with a few scenes back in the present with his daughter. Near the end you start to figure it out, but not completely, and it is a pretty good movie. Worth the watch.

Out of obligation--and unable to escape--they trudge to not one, not two, but four relative-choked festivities, increasingly mortified to find childhood fears raised, adolescent wounds reopened... and their very future together uncertain. As Brad counts the hours to when he can get away from their parents, step-parents, siblings and an assortment of nieces and nephews, Kate is starting to hear the ticking of a different kind of clock. And by the end of the day, she is beginning to wonder if their crazy families' choices are not so crazy after all.

Wish me luck!” Apatow directs Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann in Funny People, the story of a famous comedian who has a near-death experience.

Legendary action cinema master John Woo and international superstar Tony Leung reunite for the first time since the 1992 classic HARD BOILED with this epic historical drama set based on a legendary 208 A.D. battle that heralded the end of the Han Dynasty. RED CLIFF opens with power hungry Prime Minister-turned-General Cao Cao (Zhang Fengyi) seeking permission from the Han dynasty Emperor to organize a southward-bound mission designed to crush two troublesome warlords that stand in his way, Liu Bei (You Yong) and Sun Quan (Chang Chen). As the expedition gets under way, Cao Cao's troops rain destruction on Liu Bei's army, forcing the latter to retreat. Liu Bei's military strategist Zhuge Liang (Takeshi Kaneshiro) knows that their only hope for survival is to form an alliance with rival warlord Sun Quan, and reaches out to Sun Quan’s trusted advisor, war hero Zhou Yu (Tony Leung). Vastly outnumbered by Cao Cao’s fast approaching, brutal army, the rebel warlords band together to mount a heroic campaign unrivalled in history that changes the face of China forever. A massive hit in Asia and the most expensive Asian film production of all time, RED CLIFF is a breathtaking war epic that marks the triumphant return of John Woo.

Terry Fator: Live From Las Vegas review by star757

Terry Fator: Live From Las Vegas Movie Review by star757

Buy the Movie Poster for Terry Fator: Live From Las Vegas

I just watched this DVD of the ventriloquist Terry Fator from his Las Vegas show. He won America's Got Talent, but I had never watched it. Terry Fator is a ventriloquist/singer/comedian. I enjoyed his show. He has a lot of dummies that he brings out, he does some singing on his own and some with the puppets. He also does impersonations. Winston the impersonating turtle was pretty good. My favorite was the stuttering Maynard Tompkins who said he was the best Elvis impersonator, but didn't know any of his songs. Terry does several singing impersonations: Michael Jackson, Aaron Neville, Roy Orbison, Elvis, and others. Overall I enjoyed this show, pretty fun and entertaining.

The Open Road movie review - look for it on DVD Nov 17

Easy Virtue Movie Review by star757

Buy the Movie Poster for The Open Road

I just watched this movie tonight. It comes out on DVD November 17, so watch for it. I enjoyed this movie. It is about a father and son, but not your typical cliche movie. Justin Timberlake stars as Carlton Garret who goes to find his estranged father/baseball legend Kyle Garret, played by Jeff Bridges. He brings along his ex-girlfriend Lucy for the trip and he brings all the problems in his life. His mom is in the hospital waiting for heart surgery, but will not go in until she sees her ex-husband.
The movie is about Carlton's attempt to get his father to come back to Texas to see her after he finds him in Ohio. Of course they face problems along the way. You learn some about their relationship as well as his relationship with his ex-girlfriend. After airport troubles they end up taking to the open road in a rented red Hummer. I really enjoyed this movie. With only a few main characters the story line is developed well. At the end of the trip they do come up with some answers to their problems. I would recommend this if you are looking for a heart warming comedy/drama. Overall, a pretty good movie.

Two new romantic comedies! The Ugly Truth & The Accidental Husband

New York firefighter Patrick Sullivan had no idea his seemingly idyllic life was about to go up in smoke--especially as the unwitting, second-hand recipient of advice from famed love expert and radio host Dr. Emma Lloyd. One day he is a happy, go-lucky guy looking forward to a life with his soon-to-be-bride. The next thing you know, his fiancee Sophia is seeking couples counseling on the radio from Dr. Lloyd. The no-nonsense, ever practical Dr. Lloyd questions Sophia's concept of romantic love and advises her to break their engagement, which she swiftly does. But when Patrick and his computer-savvy neighbor decide to give Dr. Lloyd a taste of her own medicine and "accidentally" join them in holy matrimony--something that doesn't go over too well with her fiancee--it isn't long before they learn that sometimes even an expert in love needs a second opinion...

When the pair tracks Django to a clandestine training camp run by renegade psychic Larry Hooper, the reporter is trapped in the middle of a grudge match between the forces of Django's New Earth Army and Hooper's personal militia of super soldiers. Watch the trailer for The Box

An unhappily married couple receive a small wooden box on their doorstep. At the push of a button, the box brings its bearer instant wealth but also instantly kills someone the bearer doesn't know.

Watch the trailer for The Fourth Kind

In 1972, a scale of measurement was established for alien encounters. When a UFO is sighted, it is called an encounter of the first kind. When evidence is collected, it is known as an encounter of the second kind. When contact is made with extraterrestrials, it is the third kind. The next level, abduction, is the fourth kind. This encounter has been the most difficult to document...until now. Structured unlike any film before it, The Fourth Kind is a provocative thriller set in modern-day Nome, Alaska, where—mysteriously since the 1960s—a disproportionate number of the population has been reported missing every year. Despite multiple FBI investigations of the region, the truth has never been discovered. Here in this remote region, psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) began videotaping sessions with traumatized patients and unwittingly discovered some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented. Using never-before-seen archival footage that is integrated into the film, The Fourth Kind exposes the terrified revelations of multiple witnesses. Their accounts of being visited by alien figures all share disturbingly identical details, the validity of which is investigated throughout the film.

It's Complicated trailer

Writer/director Nancy Meyers (What Women Want, Something’s Gotta Give, The Holiday) directs Meryl Streep, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin in It’s Complicated, a comedy about love, divorce and everything in between. But when Jane and Jake find themselves out of town for their son’s college graduation, things start to get complicated. An innocent meal together turns into the unimaginable—an affair. With Jake remarried to the much younger Agness (Lake Bell), Jane is now, of all things, the other woman. Caught in the middle of their renewed romance is Adam (Martin), an architect hired to remodel Jane’s kitchen. Healing from a divorce of his own, Adam starts to fall for Jane, but soon realizes he’s become part of a love triangle. Should Jane and Jake move on with their lives, or is love truly lovelier the second time around? It’s…complicated.
