Thanks to the generosity of Weinstein Company and Genius Products, I received two copies of The Hunting Party on DVD. This movie is coming out on January 22 and might be one you might be interested in renting. Also I put a copy in the prize catalog, so review a couple movies and you will receive it on DVD. This was a good movie I thought. It has an interesting plot. Richard Gere plays Simon Hunt, a journalist traveling the globe and reporting in the middle of wars, along with his cameraman, Duck. He's in the middle of all the action at the beginning of the movie until something happens and he breaks down on air. He loses his job and floats around until his partner Duck doesn't even hear from him anymore. Meanwhile Duck is promoted to a cushy studio job in NYC. Five years later Duck, the anchorman, and a new journalist (the VP's son) arrive in Bosnia to cover the five year anniversary of the end of the war there. This is where Duck and Simon last worked together. Simon happens to be there and reunites with Duck in an effort to get Duck to help him chase one more lead. He knows where the hated war criminal, the "Wolf", is hiding. If only they can somehow find him, although no one else has been able to. Simon wants to interview him and then capture him for the $5 million reward. He convinces Duck and his young journalist friend joins in to. It ends up being a crazy ride as they travel the Bosnian/Serbian countryside in search of this crazed and hated war criminal. Will they survive? Will they capture him or will he capture them? How will they find them? And what secret in Simon's past makes him so hungry to chase the wolf? Watch to find out. I thought this was a good movie, maybe not the best, but it was an interesting story.
