This movie stars Ed Harris and Vigo Mortensen as Virgil Cole and Everrett Hitch, men hired to protect a town being dominated by a cattle rancher. Jeremy Irons plays Randall Bragg, the bad guy in this western. The town is afraid of him after he kills the marshall and does whatever he and his men please. Cole and Hitch are hired to run the town according to Cole's rules and to get Bragg for the murder. Thrown into this is Allison French played by Renee Zellweger. She is a widow who falls in love with Cole, but has trouble being faithful. I thought this was a very good movie. It was interesting and different from your usual movie. The music was great and made me think of a classic western. I would recommend this even if you don't like westerns. It's a great good guys vs. bad guys with a good story line and interesting characters.
