I happened to catch this movie while lounging on the couch one Saturday afternoon. It stars Jennifer Garner as Elektra. I guess this is somewhat of a sequel to her appearance in Daredevil with Ben Affleck, but I have not seen that one. As the movie starts we learn about the legend of Elektra and good vs. evil. We also see that she is a hired killer. Throughout the movie we see flashbacks to her past and how she became who she is, but we don't really see everything. Her latest assignment takes her to an island where she meets a single dad and his troublesome daughter. When she learns that she must kill them she can't even though she tries not to get attached to people. The rest of the movie follows their flight from the evil "Hand". We learn more about why they want this man and his daughter. You need to pay attention because little details are unraveled along the way. Can Elektra help them? Who are they really? Can Elektra come to grips with her true self as well? Overall I enjoyed the movie. There is a lot of action that keeps you into the movie. I think the ending could have gone a little deeper, but maybe they were hoping for another sequel? Worth it to watch on TV if you've nothing else to do.
