This movie stars Patton Oswalt as Paul from Staten Island. It is a look at a true sports fan and what he'll go through for his team. It is funny, and yet you feel sorry for the pathetic guy whose life revolves around his football team. Paul is a parking garage attendant who loves the NY Giants. He listens to the local sports talk radio station and is always calling with comebacks to his nemesis Philadephia Phil. Paul is 30 something, lives with his mom, is never as good as his siblings, and tailgates on the weekend with his friend while watching the game from the parking lot. One day fates collide and Paul and his friend spot their favorite player, Quantrell Bishop, in Staten Island. They decide to follow him, and a few hours later end up at a club in NYC. When he finally sums up the courage to approach his idol, things go wrong. When he learns they were following him Quantrell beats Paul to a pulp. Will this change how he feels about the game of football? The rest of the movie follows Paul's depression as his team suffers from the loss of Quantrell, who is inactive because of the beating. Will Paul press charges? You have to watch the movie to find out. This movie is somewhat funny. I didn't feel sympathy for Paul. It was sad that he cared more about his football team than his own well-being. This is what makes it funny because he is so ridiculous in his love for the Giants. Watch for it in theaters if you're looking for a sports movie about a truly committed fan.
